We will soon be adding the following standards to our end-point assessment portfolio:
- L2 Building Services Engineering Installer (ST0065; funding band £12000)
- L3 Building Services Engineering Craftsperson (ST0062), funding band £17000)
- L3 Building Services Engineering Service and Maintenance Engineer (ST0061, funding band £18000)
Building Services Engineering is all about engineering systems used to heat large buildings like factories and hospitals.
These standards fall under the Construction and Built Environment route and complement the standards for which we already offer end-point assessment, such as Low Carbon Heating Technician, Heat Network Maintenance Technician, and Plumbing and Domestic Heating Technician.
Assessment methods for all three standards are:
- multiple-choice knowledge test
- practical
- interview supported by portfolio
We are working with experienced technical experts to create unique Specifications and supporting materials for each standard. These provide centres with additional guidance and supporting materials to help apprentices prepare for their end-point assessment. The extensive experience our experts already have with these standards has been harnessed to provide clear and helpful Centre Guidance to support the preparation for the practical assessments, which are a key part of the end-point assessment.
We recognise that the Building Services Engineering Craftsperson (ST0062) has two distinct versions, version 1.1 and version 1.2, and that customers may have apprentices on either version. Therefore, we are creating end-point assessments for both versions.
Our knowledgeable assessors already have experience in assessing these standards and working with our service delivery team, and will ensure a smooth and friendly assessment process.
