Summary
Energy & Environment Awards has created a suite of qualifications aimed at supporting the development of overhead linesperson erectors working across the power industry.
The qualifications develop the technical knowledge and skills required for each linesperson erector class role, LE3, LE2 & LE1.
There are three qualifications which allows learners to work towards their required role:
An LE3 will work in the power industry for power utility owners, operators or contractors, working on overhead line power transmission networks. The purpose of this qualification is for learners is to develop the knowledge and skills required for an LE3, on completion they will have developed the core skills required to contribute safely and effectively to overhead lines activities.
An LE2 will work in the power industry for power utility owners, operators or contractors, working on overhead line power transmission networks. The purpose of this qualification is for learners is to develop the knowledge and skills required for an LE2, on completion they will have gained a good level of experience for the role and understand most overhead line construction activities.
An LE1 will work in the power industry for power utility owners, operators or contractors, working on overhead line power transmission networks. The purpose of this qualification is for learners is to develop the knowledge and skills required for an LE1, on completion they will have gained a level of experience where they are self-sufficient in undertaking all OHL construction activities.
Developed in partnership with employers, training providers, and technical experts from across the power industry, these qualifications are designed to reflect real-world working practices and meet the evolving needs of the sector. The units have also been written to align with the core elements of the Power Industry Overhead Linesperson apprenticeship standard.
The qualifications are suitable for individuals who are working towards or are employed as an Overhead Linesperson Erector and aged 16 or above.
