Summary
The Energy & Environment Awards Level 2 Diploma in Network Construction Operations (Water) supports individuals working as operatives on water distribution networks to develop the skills, knowledge and competence required to carry out a range of safety critical construction and maintenance activities. Suitable for learners aged 16 and over, the qualification provides clear routes to specialisation depending on role and responsibility.
There are three different pathways which allow the learner to specialise and achieve units according to their role and areas of responsibility:
Developed in line with current legislative and industry requirements for the water industry, the qualification equips learners with the capabilities needed to undertake mains or service laying, repairs and maintenance competently and safely on water distribution networks.
Assessment for this qualification may be carried out in the workplace, subject to approved centre status and compliance with our centre and assessment venue requirements. Where appropriate, Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) may be considered in line with our published policy.
Common units across our Level 2 Certificate in Network Construction Operations (Gas) and Level 2 Certificate in Network Construction Operations (Water) allows individuals who have already achieved one of our qualifications to complete only the gas or water specific units to gain the other. This improves transferability, reduces duplication, and enables individuals working across gas and water networks to be efficiently upskilled.
This qualification can be used as part of the application process to acquire an EUSR registration and CSCS card. For more information, please visit the EUSR website.
