Level 2 Groundworker Apprenticeship

Energy & Environment Awards Now Delivering End-point Assessment for Level 2 Groundworker Apprenticeship

Energy & Environment Awards is proud to announce that we are now officially delivering End-point Assessment (EPA) for the Level 2 Groundworker Apprenticeship – a critical standard supporting one of the UK’s most in-demand construction roles.

Groundworkers are essential to the success of every building project. They prepare construction sites, install drainage systems, and lay the foundations that support homes and infrastructure.

As part of the UK government’s commitment to building 1.5 million new homes by 2029, the demand for skilled groundworkers is accelerating rapidly.

Why the Level 2 Groundworker Apprenticeship Matters

This apprenticeship equips learners with practical, site-ready skills in:

  • Site preparation and excavation
  • Concrete placement and finishing
  • Drainage installation and infrastructure setup
  • Health, safety, and environmental compliance

It also provides a clearly defined progression route into more advanced roles, including supervisory positions, technical specialists, and careers in civil engineering.

With the UK construction workforce projected to grow to 2.75 million by 2029, and 240,000 new apprentices needed over the next decade, the Level 2 Groundworker Apprenticeship plays a vital role in addressing the national construction skills shortage.
