Summary
A Gas Network Operative is in charge of constructing, maintaining and repairing gas network infrastructure, to provide a reliable supply/service to domestic, commercial and industrial users. Infrastructure for gas transportation includes mains and services operating at below 7bar pressure.
End-point Assessment Components
Practical Assessment with questioning - The apprentice undertakes work related to their role in their normal place of work or in a simulated environment (12 hours: 11 hours for completing the practical assessment and 1 hour for questioning.)
Interview based on a Portfolio of Evidence (1 hour and can be increased by up to 10%, to allow the apprentice to complete their last answer.) A minimum of 11 open questions will be asked. Additional follow up questions are allowed, to seek clarification.
Multiple-choice test (75 minutes, 40 questions)
Gateway Requirements
The stage of the apprenticeship where the apprentice, employer and training provider determine whether the apprentice is ready to undertake end-point assessment
Apprentices must have compiled and submitted a portfolio of evidence to underpin the Interview
Apprentices must have achieved English and Mathematics at Level 1; the requirement to have taken the tests for Level 2 was removed in August 2022
Apprentices must have achieved Network Construction operations (Gas) Level 1 certificate, as a minimum
